Checking tyre pressure.
Correct pressure keeps your tyres wearing evenly, your car handling predictably and your fuel use lower. Check pressures when the tyres are cold, at least monthly and always before a long trip. If you're losing pressure quickly, bring the vehicle in for a puncture check.

Finding the correct tyre pressure.
Your vehicle manufacturer sets the recommended tyre pressure for the front and rear axles. It's usually shown on the driver-door placard, inside the fuel-filler flap or in the owner's handbook. Load and towing may change the recommended pressure, so read the placard carefully.
